This is one of the few places in Sri Lanka where many individuals of different faiths come to pray. As to the Buddhist lifestyle, Kataragama is many of the sixteen places the Buddha visited for the duration of his 3 journeys to Sri Lanka. As a result, that is one of the maximum well-known pilgrimage websites in Ceylon, revered across both Hindus and Buddhists.
